frequently asked questions

How does this service work?

It's pretty simple for all parties involved. The landlord decides what their minimum credit criteria (grade) is for each of their rental properties. The prospective tenant pays a pre-qualification fee and we pull the tenant's credit file. We then show the tenant all rental properties from your website where the tenant meets or exceeds the landlord's minimum credit grade. Landlords are provided with leads consisting of creditworthy tenants that express an interest in the landlord's rental property. You can watch a Flash demo of the process.

When will the TenantCentral service be available?

The service is available now.

Why is this service better than other methods used to search for rental property?

With our service, tenants pay a fee to see all properties they qualify for. No more wasting time and money on properties where they don't qualify, driving all over town and filling out needless rental applications. This service allows tenants to focus their time and energy on properties that they're pre-qualified for based on their credit profile. And landlords can focus their time and energy on qualified tenants.

How can this service be integrated with our website?

Integration with any website is relatively straightforward. We simply need your rental listings via CSV or XML and we take care of the rest. We can even provide a branded i-frame within your existing website.

Why should tenants trust E-Renter TenantCentral with their personal information?

E-Renter is an award-winning Consumer Reporting Agency. We've been in business since 2003 and strictly abide by all laws, including the Fair Credit and Reporting Act (FCRA). We're leaders in tenant screening and have provided hundreds of thousands of reports to over 100,000 customers.

How much are tenants charged for this service?

Tenants are charged $29.95.

Does the landlord see the tenant's credit report or credit score?

For properties that qualified tenants show explicit interest in, the landlord will see the tenant's name and contact information. The landlords will not see the tenant's credit report/credit score, bank account information or social security number.

Do you charge the landlords for this service?

This is a free service for landlords. Prospective tenants pay a one-time fee and are able to view all rental listings where they meet the landlord's credit criteria.

Can a landlord have different credit criteria for each of his properties?

Each property can have its own criteria that we call "grades". The minimum grades the landlord requires can be changed at any time. The landlord can simply log into his account to change the property grade.

How do the landlords know when a qualified tenant is interested in their property?

We send an email to the landlord letting him know a qualified lead has expressed interest in his property. The landlord also has a list of interested, qualified tenants in his TenantCentral account.

I've never seen this service offered before, how are you able to do this?

We've developed a patent-pending process that enables us to pre-qualify tenants for rental properties.
